I am so excited, my friend who is currently overseas has reported back that she has made a yarn purchase for me:

 ”Got you some wool! Bathurst st was really close, a really short bus ride. So got some cherry tree hill supersock wool that has dark greens and purples. The koigu is much  lots of colours – red blue purple pink and green.  The sea silk colour was harder to choose - so chose one that has really pretty shades of  with some blue and pink – hope that will be okay!”

All too good, I cant believe she went to so much trouble for me!

I would like to make a clapotis out of the Seasilk, but I believe that the yardage wont be enough, hmmmm.

Here they are the first ever socks, made by me!

As you can see I was not very generous with the leg length…..

Overall I am quite happy with them.

I finished my first pair of socks! they are only ankle socks as I wanted to get tot he technical bits of the sock quickly so i didn’t have much patience for the leg bit.

Overall, I am pleased with the socks, they are an 8ply on 3.5mm needles (a more house pattern I think). However, a mistake I made is that my cast on edge is too tight, its ok once the sock is on but getting them on is a bit tricky.
